Jane Gazzo

Jane Gazzo’s name has been synonymous with music in Australia for over two decades. A broadcaster and TV presenter by trade, Jane is also an in-demand MC and party DJ specialising in indie rock and ’80s classics.

Jane’s broadcasting career began at Melbourne radio station 3RRR FM in her mid-teens. She has since gone on to present nationally on Triple J and Triple M in Australia as well as BBC 6 Music, Capital FM and XFM in the UK. She is well-known as the co-host of ’90s cult TV show Recovery (ABC), Play Loud (BBC), and The Metal Hammer Awards (ITV).

Making her name in the indie clubs of Melbourne in the mid-‘90s (Clockwork, Base, Retro, Goo), Jane moved to London in the ‘00s and continued DJing at Alan McGee’s celebrity haunt ‘Death Disco’, as well as Defectors Weld, Keston Lodge, Bartok & Camden Lock.

Relocating to Sydney, Jane was a regular guest at the long-running indie night ‘Purple Sneakers’, The Beach Road Hotel, The Beresford, Black Cherry and the high end Ivy Nightclub (Sydney).

In 2007 she joined the FOXTEL network and hosted full time for Channel [V] (2007-2012). This included reporting from the ARIA Red Carpet, Future Music Festival, Soundwave, Big Day Out, Splendour in the Grass as well as interviewing some of the biggest names in the music industry.

Jane has DJ’d many music festivals including Latitude (UK), All Tomorrow’s Parties (UK & Oz), Reading Festival (VIP bar) as well various corporate events for clients including Foxtel, NAB & Sony. Jane is also an in-demand MC, hosting various events and awards for clients as diverse as the Hilton Group, Visit Victoria, Nando’s and LiveNation.

Since returning to Melbourne, she now hosts a monthly ‘80s night at the Gasometer Hotel. In August 2019 she played 5 shows at Rod Laver Arena as the opening DJ for Hugh Jackman, showing that she is capable to rock rooms of all sizes and to any crowd.

Greatest hits, indie rock and ’80s are her stock-in-trade.
